Together, we can build parliamentary support for integrated and sustainable healthcare!
Dear x MP,
FORMATION OF APPG FOR INTEGRATED AND SUSTAINABLE HEALTHCARE
I am writing as a constituent and a (your therapy e.g. reflexologist) of many years to ask whether you would be willing to lend your support to the formation of a new All-Party Parliamentary Group for Integrated and Sustainable Healthcare. This group would provide a forum for discussions in Parliament about this important and growing area of healthcare. I have personally seen the enormous benefits that people can gain from (your therapy e.g. reflexology) through my own practice. I believe that a truly integrated and sustainable healthcare service would improve patient experiences, bring about better patient outcomes, and provide a framework for a more cost-effective delivery of healthcare services.
The Integrated Healthcare Collaborative (IHC), of which my professional association is a member, is reaching out to Members of Parliament with an interest in progressive health issues to help form this new All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG). The IHC was formed from members of the previous APPG for Integrated Healthcare, which was in existence from the mid 1980s until the 2019 General Election, and has a wealth of experience in this field.
This new APPG will have the potential to make a significant contribution to the healthcare conversation within Parliament and outside, looking for innovative solutions to enhance patient care, and improve service delivery within the NHS and beyond. Its remit will be as outlined below:
“To advance the understanding in Parliament of the potential of greater integration with conventional medicine of complementary therapies, traditional medicines and natural approaches to healthcare; to raise awareness of the benefits to the mental, physical and emotional needs of patients of employing an individualised, whole-person and preventative approach that focuses on health and wellbeing; to promote the better utilisation of untapped resources in the healthcare system to improve patient experiences and outcomes; and support action to bring about a more sustainable approach to healthcare provision and delivery.”
If you are willing to become involved with this initiative, either as an Officer, or through your support more widely, please let me know and I will ask the IHC to contact you directly.
Yours sincerely,
