The first recipient of a Professional Doctorate in Reflexology!

Huge congratulations to our AoR member Jackie James, The first recipient of a Professional Doctorate in Reflexology.

Her new title will be Dr Jackie James (DHealth Science).

There are several other luminaries of the reflexology world with PhDs such as Dr Peter Mackareth and Dr Carol Samuel and Jackie now joins the ranks.
Her piece of research ‘Reflexology specific guidance for using the template for the intervention description and replication (TIDieR): A delphi study’ can be downloaded here

Her piece will be instrumental in changing the quality of reflexology research in the future, and in tandem, how reflexology is viewed from a scientific perspective. One of the real weaknesses we have is the poor quality of research and this will be a game changer!

Well done Jackie James and thank you for allowing AoR members (including myself) to be part of the all important Delphi study that resulted in this guidance.

Jackie can be seen talking about how she became involved in research in our ‘Meet the Researchers’ area of the members website here
