The Emmett Workshop is a short introductory workshop created by Ross Emmett so that everyone would have the opportunity to use some of his work to help themselves, friends and family. You will be introduced to the Principles on which the technique is based and learn 9 releases that can help people with the most common complaints in legs, knees, arms, shoulders and neck and a diaphragm release.
The EMMETT Footcare Workshop will give you 7 further tools and techniques that you may start to use in your reflexology practice immediately. It’s very gentle and may achieve fast results that sit really well alongside a reflexology treatment. For example, if your client is complaining of tight calves, sore toes or feet, then you may do the relevant Emmett Footcare techniques which aim to relax calf muscles, relax and stretch the toes, or take tension from the heel area quickly within your reflexology sequence.
Pre- and post-treatment testing can show the client just how much improvement has taken place immediately.
An EMMETT Treatment involves the application of light finger pressure at specific points, referred to as “Emmett points”. The points are not the same as traditional trigger points or acupressure points or any other points described in any other therapy. EMMETT points are small sensory receptors that allow access to the brain via the therapists’ touch. With the correct light touch, the brain receives and evaluates this stimulus and initiates the relaxation response in the soft tissue. The result is often instantaneous physical change.
All releases of the workshop and the footcare course are done in sitting or standing and fully clothed.
