Seminar: Introduction to Facial Reflexology
Speaker: Nikke Ariff MAR
Venue: The Caledonian Hotel, Osborne Road Jesmond, Newcastle
Description: Facial Reflexology SorensensistemTM, is a powerful re-balancing therapy practiced on the face and scalp – its effectiveness is derived from its proximity to the brain, combined with ancient facial reflex-map resulting in an all encompassing holistic therapy - a marriage of several healing systems: the Oriental meridians and acupuncture points, South American facial maps with clinical neurology.
This seminar is aimed at providing the professional practitioner with an introduction to the work of Lone Sorensen - Facial Reflexology SorensensistemTM – and the Oriental and South American health systems on which it is based. The importance of the face and scalp will be reviewed and the component systems incorporated in Facial Reflexology will be explained. There will also be an illustration explanation of how our work in Facial Reflexology has been combined with foot and hand maps to address the health issues of individuals with compromised neurological systems. Case histories will be presented and practical work will provide the professional practitioner with an opportunity to experience first-hand the benefits of working on the face. This seminar is aimed at the professional practitioner as an introduction to facial maps from ancient reflex-therapies that underpin Facial Reflexology SorensensistemTM. This seminar will cover the essential elements incorporated in a SorensensistemTM treatment: the importance of the Traditional Chinese Five Elements in assessing health issues and the neurological importance of working on the face and scalp to rebalance body systems and energies. Although we often are distracted by our preoccupation with decorating the face, there is good reason for the location of all our sensory organs on the head. Their neurologically important location and this seeming ‘flippant’ beauty obsession will also be explored. Practical work will be included in this seminar, please bring a small pillow, moisturising cream and a hair band. |

Seminar: Introduction to Finger Free Reflexology
Speaker: David Wayte FMAR
Venue: Strand Palace Hotel, 372 Strand, London WC2R 0JJ
Description: David Wayte will be giving an introduction to Finger Free® Reflexology, which is designed to give a full and deep treatment to your client without unnecessary strain or stress to the fingers and thumbs. This unique, radical new technique aims to help extend your working life, and open up a whole new way of working on the feet.
Finger Free® Reflexology utilises areas of the hand and wrist to give effortless, deep treatment to your client's feet. Finger Free® also draws on the principles of Zone Therapy and Meridians, in order to enhance classical Reflexology. If you enjoy giving Reflexology treatments but find that after a few clients, your fingers are beginning to ache, and then Finger Free® could be just the answer you have been looking for. The techniques used in Finger Free® Reflexology reduce wear and tear on the finger joints and therefore assist in extending your working life. Finger Free® Reflexology can also be helpful for reflexologists with carpal tunnel syndrome and/or double jointed fingers. Because the techniques are so different, and because the pressure applied is less, this new form of Reflexology has the potential to become a 'career saver'. If you are lucky enough to have strong hands and - as yet - don't experience any signs of finger strain, Finger Free® Reflexology still has the advantage of offering your clients a different style of treatment, enabling your treatments to remain fresh, varied and interesting. |

Speaker: Dr Peter Mackereth
Venue: The Belmont Hotel, De Montfort Street, Leicester, LE1 7GR

The study day looks how hypnotherapists could work together with reflexologists or for reflexologists to take further training in hypnotherapy and or to utilise techniques to deepen their relaxation and therapeutic skills. The content of the day will include introduction to theory and practice of HypnoReflexology©. Seminar: Natural Pregnancy & Intuitive Birth through Mobility & Chakra Assessment (MCA) and Visualisations
Speaker: Lena Chandler SRN, SCM
Venue: The Marks Tey, London Road, Essex, CO16 1DU
Description: Lena developed her unique and successful method in her practice working with pregnancy and fertility clients and now uses it for other client too. Through a specially designed reflexology technique - MCA (Mobility and Chakra Assessment) - she assesses energy imbalances as well as emotional and spiritual blockages and traumas. These insights are used to create reflexology treatments which mobilize rigidity in the feet, pelvis, whole body, mind and spirit. She adds visualizations, music and simple movements to help clients achieve change.
Lena believes passionately in, “conception, pregnancy and birth being rites of passage which all women have the right to grow from”. She says reflexologists can play a major role in promoting a healthy pregnancy and natural intuitive birth. These are times when women should be encouraged to connect with their instinctive and intuitive source of power. Reflexology can do all that if we know how. |

Seminar: Introduction to Reflexology, the Meridians and the Five Elements
Speaker: Geraldine Giles HMAR
Venue: Strand Palace Hotel, 372 Strand, London WC2R 0JJ
Description: This seminar offers qualified and student Reflexologists, the opportunity, of looking, applying and gathering an understanding of Chinese Meridians and the Five Elements, in relation to reflexology. Sometimes the boundaries of our initial training may limit us. This seminar is an opportunity to gather another set of tools for your reflexology tool box by looking at interpretations from the information gathered from our clients, through a consultation sheet, reading the feet and understanding why a particular reflex area may be responsive to touch. A Reflexologist can sometimes feel frustrated when they hit a dead end trying to understand what is actually going on and why a reflex may be sensitive but the client has no condition that can be related to the area being worked. The aim is to offer a new way of thinking and questioning and with applying new knowledge looking at application of practical techniques.
From attending this seminar you will gain an understanding of how the meridians relate to reflexology and broaden your knowledge. There will also be some new practical techniques and certainly see if this is an area to do further training through theory and practical application. You will also develope a further understanding of a comprehensive consultation process.
